Fertility Jewelry: Jade Goddess Necklace

Jade & Citrine Fertility Goddess Necklace
This fertility necklace includes a beautiful goddess talisman. Wonderful hand made lampwork goddess pendant is a beautiful amber yellow and fully three dimensional. I've framed her with dreamy, soothing green Serpentine Jade. Accented with big fat golden yellow Citrine and small mink brown semi-translucent Smoky Quartz. All hand wire wrapped with natural brass.

In ancient civilizations Serpentine Jade was seen as a talisman and said to protect against demonic powers and promote fertility. It brings peace, evens out mood swings and calms the wearer in stressful situations.

Smoky Quartz symbolizes facing life, strength, and motivation to meet new challenges. It stimulates fertility and brings inner calm. It is also thought to be capable of divine and clairvoyant inspiration.

Citrine symbolizes joy. It promotes self-confidence and renewed determination. It combats stress and strengthens the immune system. Worn by the Greeks and Romans as a protective talisman.

Secret Wish Butterfly Earrings: Silver Jewelry

Butterfly Earrings

There's a Native American legend that says: if you have a secret wish, capture a butterfly and whisper your wish to it. Since butterflies cannot speak, your secret is safe in their keeping. Release that butterfly and it will carry your wish to the Great Spirit. By setting the butterfly free, you are helping to restore the balance of nature and your wish will surely be granted.

Whisper your secret wish to these handmade butterfly earrings. Delicate, intricate, filigree sterling silver butterflies dangle freely from a series of black onyx gemstone and sterling silver beads. Lovely, free movement to the dangle

Black onyx is used as a magical gemstone. It deflects negative energy and promotes inner harmony. Silver symbolizes wealth and prosperity. Learn more about the healing properties of gemstones and the magic of symbols in World Peace Jewelry's Gemstone and Jewelry Guides.

Love Peace Jewelry

To the left is a handmade peace necklace with a positive totem theme.  Delicate vintage brass chain with three pendants:  antique brass traditional peace sign, small red jasper gemstone heart, and a turquoise gemstone teardrop.  This necklace is extra long with no clasp.  This unusual, very vintage looking peace necklace would make a thoughtful gift for a friend.

Turquoise, used here, is a very spiritual gemstone that brings protection, inner joy and peace.  Jasper symbolizes will power and in the Middle ages was the warrior's stone.  The heart has long symbolized love.  A powerful combination for this peace jewelry.

Food and Hunger: A Small Effort with Love #BAD11

A few days ago I was watching Jon Stewart. He was talking about human rights which are granted by the government and billed as "God given rights." His comment which struck me was: "Come on.  If God was giving out rights, wouldn't he say things like, the right to enough to eat?

As we all know many people do not have enough to eat. Yes, all around the world but also in our own communities. Our own community is where we live and where we have the best chance of doing something about it. It does not even have to be a major effort. If we all do something small and with love it will make a difference.

I am a gardener. My garden always produces much more food than my family can eat or preserve. I take the excess to the local Probation and Parole office where it is free for the taking. Having worked as a Probation and Parole Officer I know the need for food of many of the offenders living in our community. It is not much but its a little effort done with love.

So what else can we do in our community?
  • Food banks are running low, donate to them.
  • Volunteer to help out at a local food pantry.
  • Become a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
  • Don't throw food away. If you have too much, share it. Chances are you know someone who needs it.

If we all make a little effort, together we can have a big impact.
